  • Rap/Hip-Hop: Travis Scott

I chose Travis Scott because he is all about incorporating technology into his music. Both his music and his concerts/performances are famous for the technology he uses. When Travis raps, he always uses auto-tune on his voice. The use of auto-tune helps enhance the sound of the music, as well as make the song and lyrics catchier. In his concerts, Travis is one of the most extravagant performers. Aside from the auto-tune, he further uses technology in many of his concerts in different ways. The lights in his sets are incredibly colorful, strong, flashy, visually stimulating, etc. The lights, in supplementation with the smoke from the fog-machines and on-stage flame-throwers, are truly incredible. They simply take his great music to the next level. Also, in many of his concerts, he brings out a giant bird that 'flies' around the stage and he stands on it as he raps. Truly breathtaking. Without technology, Travis Scott would still be talented, he just would not even be close to what he is with it.

  • Dubstep: Space Jesus

Technology is extremely evident in Space Jesus's music... in fact, technology is everything for Space Jesus. All music that Space Jesus has ever produced is created solely/completely through the use of a computer and technology. The whole process behind the making of his music is all editing and putting tons of different 'techno' or 'robotic' noises together along with tons of bass. As you can see in the videos, although there is little to no vocals/lyrics in his music, he never fails to get the audience hype and moving/bumping to the music and heavy bass and sick drops.

  • New Psychadelia Rock: The Flaming Lips

I chose The Flaming Lips because of the experience I had seen them live in concert. I saw them perform at Okeechobee Music Festival in March 2018, and despite not being too familiar with them or even being a fan at all, I still absolutely loved their show. The lights they used were all so bright and vibrant, and rainbows and various colors were all over, giving off the great vibes. They used a giant plastic ball to walk around in on stage, and even used it to walk into the crowd, which was an incredible sight to see. Aside from all of the technology they use in their performances, they also incorporate a great deal of technology in their music.

  • Techno/Electro/Funk: Tipper

Tipper, very much like Space Jesus, his career is based basically solely on technology. Tipper is a 42-year-old British DJ and producer who creates his own very trippy/psychedelic videos to go along with and compliment his music. He specializes in electronic/techno music, as he relies purely on technology to create his work. He first started producing music in 1997, when he began making music based on heavy bass frequencies and electronic tunes, and he became very successful at producing dance music. His music today still relies on those foundations that he started out on, but his music today has evolved tremendously over the years. Now, Tipper travels to and performs at tons of different music festivals all over the nation, and even has a music festival of his own in Florida.

  • House: Green Velvet

Curtis Jones is a 50 year old DJ and music producer that goes by the name Green Velvet. He creates his music all electronically through computers and plays them at music festivals or clubs for people to dance to. There typically isn't too much going on in most of his songs, but he always adds a fun and quick beat for people to dance and bump to. His music is generally pretty chill compared to other house or techno artists, however his music is still perfect for getting the audience moving and dancing.

  1. This is very well written and you incorporated a great deal of technology that each artist used. I never thought about auto-tune when researching the artists I used.
